Cuyahoga County’s child care system comprises child care professionals; parents and caregivers; government entities; and nonprofits, who work together to make high quality care possible for Cuyahoga County’s youngest residents.
Invest in Children funds work, delivered by Starting Point, to strengthen and support the early childhood sector. The work includes:
Supporting Child Care Professionals
- Providing opportunities to pursue professional development.
- Making more than 100 training sessions available to help meet SUTQ requirements, CDA credentials or CDA renewals.
- Promoting T.E.A.C.H. scholarship opportunities that provide financial support and educational resources to early childhood educators.
Supporting Child Care Programs
- Assisting child care programs throughout the county to achieve, maintain, and increase their rating in Ohio’s Step Up to Quality system.
- Providing guidance and counsel to child care programs working to achieve a high-quality rating.
- Vetting and supporting potential new child care center owners, as they build their sites and recruit families, to expand high-quality child care available in communities.
- Collecting and analyzes enrollment data.
- Ensuring safe spaces for young children to learn.
- Promoting family experiences and bonding.
Supporting Cuyahoga County Families
- Assisting families who desire to find quality child care for their child(ren).
