THE BEST WAY TO AVOID ANY LICENSE SUSPENSION, BLOCK OR DENIAL IS TO PAY YOUR MONTHLY CHILD SUPPORT OBLIGATION IN FULL AND ON TIME.
The OCSS is required to issue a JFS 4024 ADVANCE NOTICE TO SUSPEND PROFESSIONAL, RECREATIONAL AND/OR DRIVER’S LICENSE, 10 days prior to any suspension. If you receive this notice, please contact the OCSS by the due date in the notice to make arrangements to avoid the suspension.
To get your license reinstated you will have to:
- Make a lump sum payment on each case with a suspension
- Report the name of a valid employer or bank account to issue an income withholding.
ONLY THE OCSS can determine whether you qualify for license reinstatement.
Driver’s and Commercial Driver’s License Suspension
Driver’s and Commercial Driver’s license suspension and reinstatement is usually done in real time.
The Ohio BMV imposes a $25 reinstatement fee per suspension. You must pay this fee (in addition to paying the child support lump sum) to get your license released. Only the BMV can
tell you how much you owe in reinstatement fees.
BMV fees can be paid at any BMV location in the State of Ohio.
